📌 Within the framework of the Floodshield Project, on the occasion of the “International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction”, an event was held on Friday 3, November, 2023, in Gevgelija at the Vasil Kantarjiev primary school, where the project partners, the Ministry of the Environment and Physical Planning / the Ministry of the Environment Jetësor and PH (PP3) and the Directorate for Protection and Rescue (PP4) promoted the goals and activities of the project, as well as the Flood Self-Protection Guide.
📌 The project team in charge of continuing education worked to increase awareness of prevention and reduce disaster risks among the most vulnerable category – children.
📌 By explaining how to behave, what was most necessary to do and what not to do, the children were given information on how to behave before, during and after floods.
➡️ One of the goals of the project is to educate, inform and raise awareness about the protection and rescue of vulnerable categories from flood hazards.



📌 On Friday 3, November, 2023, followed a second event with the purpose of training to raise awareness and preparedness for flood prevention and management where the project partners, the Ministry of the Environment and Physical Planning / the Ministry of the Environment Jetësor and PH (PP3) and the Directorate for Protection and Rescue (PP4) promoted the goals and activities of the project, as well as the Flood Self-Protection Guide. The whole group at this event took place in Gevgelija and it was addressed to people with disabilities.
📌 Thanks to Mobilnost Gevgelija, for their cooperation and support in the realization of this event, which was also attended by members and representatives of the Association of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities PORAKA and the Association of Blind Persons from Gevgelija. Personal assistants for persons with disabilities were also present and everyone was able to present their vision and share their experience related to this project. On the part of the expert team led by Prof. Dr. Lulzim Murtezani presented practical examples of how to prevent and protect people before, during and after flooding.
