FLOOD SHIELD Final Event ⏰On Wednesday, 22nd of November, the Final Conference of the project took place at the Space Lab in Thessaloniki. 🖥🌍
All project partners participated either in person or online with their officials, staff, external experts and stakeholders.
The project’s lead partner, Decentralized Administration of Macedonia – Thrace (D.A.M.-T), was represented by officials and staff from the Civil Protection and Water Directorates, while representatives of the General Secretariat of Natural Environment and Water of the Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy, from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources Planningand the Directorate of Civil Protection of North Macedonia, were also present.
The Final Event was preceded by a press conference 🎥 to highlight the role of volunteers in flood management and, more broadly, to disseminate the project’s results.
The purpose of the Final Event was to present the project’s outcomesits goals and added value for the cross-border region at the wider audience. Each partner shared their experience, key achievements for their organisations, yet including difficulties and challenges encountered. ✅
The event was also showcased possibilities and opportunities for the future of cross-border cooperation between the two countries🤝in the joint governance and management of flood risks, highlighting the project’s significance of the project and its benefits for the cross-border area towards this direction.
