📌 Within the framework of the Floodshield Project , on the occasion of the “International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction” and the “International Day of Persons with Disabilities”, an event was held on Friday 30, November, 2023, in Veles, Republic of North Macedonia. The scope of the event was the awareness and preparedness training for flood prevention and management. It was addressed to people with disabilities and it was organized by the Ministry of the Environment and Physical Planning / the Ministry of the Environment Jetësor and PH (PP3).
📌 Thanks to the Association of People with Cerebral Palsy and Other Disabilities–Veles , for their cooperation and support in the realization of this event. Personal assistants for persons with disabilities were also present and it was possible for everyone to express their views and share their experience related to this project.
➡️ On the part of the expert team led by Prof. Dr. Lulzim Murtezani presented practical examples of how to prevent and protect people before, during and after flooding.
➡️ With this training, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was also marked on December 3.
